BP awards North Sea engineering contract to PD&MS Energy

PD&MS Energy, a leading oil and gas engineering consultancy, has been awarded a major engineering services contract for platform drilling rigs with BP. The exclusive three-year contract will see the Aberdeen-based business deliver engineering, procurement and offshore construction services for upgrades on all BP platform drilling assets in the North Sea.
The contract workscope includes life of field (LOF) and blowout preventer (BOP) / well control upgrades, five-yearly re-certifications as well as general drilling rig repair works. The contract carries options to extend for an additional two years. Simon Rio, managing director of PD&MS Energy, said: “We are clearly delighted to be awarded this formal contract with BP.

PD&MS Energy, which now has 200 personnel on board, recently secured additional office space in its Atholl House and Exchange Street premises to facilitate the continued growth of the business and meet unprecedented demand for its services PD&MS Energy has also delivered drilling upgrade projects on BP’s Ula platform in the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
